News of Shelley Fabares’s death put 465,529 readers on her page in one day. ChatGPT drew 63,020. Source ›
On a normal day ChatGPT is the bigger page by far, around 85,000 readers against her 1,500. One piece of news lifts a page far above its own line, and within days it drops back. So the question is never which name is more famous. It is what happened that day.
What is in it
These, and the rest of that day’s list. Some names you know at once, most you have never seen. A few cards are not pages at all, but a whole day of the world: searches, births, flights.

Questions
- Is there a Wikipedia version of Wordle?
- A few daily games are built on Wikipedia. What? uses what people read on it: two things stand against each other, and you pick the one more people opened on one day.
- Where do the numbers come from?
- From the Wikimedia pageviews API, counted per article and per day, human traffic only. The cards that are not pages are daily amounts, and each one names the institution that published it.
- Is it free?
- Yes, and you never need an account. Past days live in an archive; your first archive day is free.
- How is a run scored?
- There are no points. Every round shows the factor between the two numbers, you may skip once, and the first wrong pick ends the run.
- Are there new rounds every day?
- A new chain every day, the same one for everyone. It changes at midnight UTC.
