Guess the size, the place, the year. Then see how close you were.
Every game gives you five rounds a day. You drag, pull or draw a guess, and the sheet shows the real number and how far off you were.

Made by one person

I’m Esteban. I make roughly on my own, in Switzerland.
One desk, next to my day job: the design, the code, the data, the words. I wanted a daily game with nothing to memorise, so I built one. It is free, you don’t need an account, and I plan to keep it that way. roughly is the first game from Hired Hands Games, my small studio.
By day I build websites at Vitren and do SEO/GEO. Whether it is about a game, a wrong number or a website of your own, write to esteban@roughly.is.
A catalogue of my own
Every game draws from a catalogue I keep myself: more than 2,000 entries, each with a source, each checked before it goes in. If I cannot find a source for a number, the round does not exist. These are a few of the entries. The catalogue keeps growing, and every image in it is credited on the credits page.
- Woolly mammoth
- RMS Titanic
- Chimpanzee
- Space Shuttle
- Eiffel Tower
- Megalodon
- Stegosaurus
- Blue whale

Sources: Wikipedia and Wikidata for most of it, the Swiss Federal Statistical Office, Natural Earth, Wikimedia’s pageview statistics and Open Food Facts for the rest.
Write me
For anything roughly: a number that feels wrong, a game you want, a source that belongs in there. Every mail lands with me, and I answer.
And for the other thing I do. If you want a website, or have one that nobody finds, the same address is the right one. I build websites at Vitren and do SEO/GEO. A mail like the one on the right is all it takes.
